DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT — Colorado winter storm on Thursday, covering areas already buried with as much as 3 to 4 feet, closing schools and businesses and delaying DIA flights. Airlines canceled hundreds of flights because of drifting snow and high winds. Up to 12" to 14" of snow was expected at Denver International Airport by Thursday afternoon. Frontier Airlines at DIA said it canceled 19 flights in and out of Denver because the airport had been unable to keep enough runways and taxiways open. The airline also said some flights were delayed by up to four hours."We're at the mercy of airport conditions at DIA this today and hope they can recover to help us avoid further flight cancellations today. United Airlines, the dominant carrier at the Denver airport with about 400 flights per day, canceled about half its flights, United Airline said "We're doing everything we can to accommodate the travelers and we're also asking them to check online for their flights," for cancelations.

DENVER D.O.T. -Roads across Colorado Are snow packed and icy, with the snow not likely to stop anytime soon. "There is definitely some adverse driving conditions right now, and it's expected to continue throughout a good portion of Thursday," said Bob Wilson, a Colorado Department of Transportation spokesman. Wilson said although some cars are sliding off roads, not many accidents had been reported.
Colorado U.S. Highway 6 is closed to Loveland Pass, while a 35-mile span of Interstate I-25 is closed from Wellington to Cheyenne. Wilson said the closure is to prevent traffic congestion going into Wyoming, where driving conditions are worse than in northern Colorado. Blowing snow and poor visibility also prompted the closure of I-70 between the eastern edge of Denver to Limon.
A 40-mile stretch of Interstate 80 is closed from Cheyenne to Laramie.
DENVER AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION - is slow and on stand by notice, only pre reservation are continuing at this time. New reservation for Friday and Saturday for cancelled flights out of DIA are being excepted on a first come first served basis Thank You Colorado Airport Transportation.

Tip #1: Always pre-arrange your Denver airport ground transportation. Why? the Denver International Airport is 23 miles away from Downtown Denver, and there's no rapid-transit connection. It is advised that travelers visiting the Colorado Convention Center make necessary arrangements for Denver airport transportation prior to landing for any Downtown event.

Tip #3: Late night flight do not take a chance expecting Denver airport transportation to be available late in the evening or early in the morning. Call ahead and reserve your ground transportation ahead of time. Public Transportation's and share ride shuttle vans stop running after 9 pm or will not offer door to door service, just via point destination only.(check with your public transportation office for more details).

Denver Airport Transportation: Tips for Lost Luggage or Baggage

Importatant numbers you should know at the Denver International Airport;
DIA Airport Baggage Center- (303) 342-5858 located on level 5

City Lost & Found at DIA- (303) 342-4062 located on level 5

Always label your baggage outside: label it inside and out. Labeling suit cases is helpful to the airline attendant searching for your lost luggage and is helpful when you need to claim the lost items too.Label your baggage inside: I duct tape a card with my name and address to the inside of the baggage and backpack and leave a copy of my airline information pass inside in plain sight in the hopes that someone might actually read it if trying to locate my bag.

Too late the airline lost my luggage, What should I do now? if your bag doesn't show up on the baggage carousel, look immediately for the airline's baggage office or window nearby and report it there at once. Don't panic- - chances are your bag may just be delayed and coming in on another flight. Give the window clerk your baggage stubs.

What happens after I report lost luggage? The clerk at the baggage claim window will track your bag, using your stubs. If the bag isn't on another flight, the clerk will begin calling around to track it down.

Transportation safety should be a Travelers high priority

Busy day of traveling and the last thing on your mind is safety. Take it from a professional in the business of passenger transportation for the Denver International Airport; one of your higher priorities should be choosing safe & reliable airport transportation. Here are a few tips to help you ask correct questions for selecting Denver airport transportation .

  1. Make your Denver airport transportation selection a head of time. Days & Weeks in advance.

  2. Know how many miles your destination is to or from the Denver International Airport, before calling around for a quote.

  3. Make a selection based on Value, Distances, and Safety. Most important the phone reservation contact should answer your questions directly. If they have invasive answers, do not make a reservation.

  4. Questions to ask? Can you give me a flat rate without any hidden fees? What is the make and model of your vehicles? What is your standard in safety for your drivers? If the questions that you ask seem to frustrate them or they seem to have no real company policy response, choose another service provider.

  5. Value & Price this is a balance of making the right decision for airport transportation. You get what you paid for! We have all heard this when we thought we made a good decision and it was not what we expected. You can avoid this by following a simple guideline of what you should be looking for in airport transportation Value, Safety, & Professionalism. Ask yourself What is my first impression after I contacted them?

UFO near Denver International Airport ?

Published: 6:25 AM 8/24/2009
Colorado - 08-22-09

I fly as a professional commercial airline pilot for a regional airline. While flying a Salt Lake to Denver leg in an empty Canadair CRJ-200 Regional Jet on 22 August, the Captain and I witnessed a brilliant, bluish-white object as we descended through 19000 feet AMSL and crossed the "TOMSN" intersection in the area of Estes Park Colorado, some 60 miles Northwest of the Denver International Airport.
As we leveled off at 19000 feet, we began slowing from 310 knots indicated to 250 knots indicated airspeed, as instructed by ATC. At this time, we noticed a bright, white light off to our right (south of us) at about the 3:30 position and apparently the same altitude as us.
It appeared to be another aircraft descending parallel to us into the Denver Area, but it was extremely bright, appearing as though we were looking directly into its landing lights. We asked the Denver Approach controller on 119.30 Mhz if he could see any other aircraft off to our right, and he said there were none.
We also had no indication of any aircraft off to our right on our onboard TCAS (collision avoidance) system display. We observed this aircraft (?) from approx 8:07 to 8:09 PM (less than 3 minutes) and it appeared to move eastbound parallel to our course, less than 10 miles off to the right (south) of our position, in the area of Longs Peak and Rocky Mountain Nat'l. Park.
We know it was not a great distance away, since we saw it pass between us and a rain/virga shower in the vicinity of Long's Peak, off to the right (south) of our track. It appeared to have at least similar speed to ours (250 to 300 knots), although this is difficult to judge--it seemed to be a bit faster than we were, going eastbound.
As we both began to observe it closely, it literally faded from bright and sharply visible to completely gone in less than three seconds. It did not appear to accelerate or change course--it just faded rapidly from view and was gone. Another two quick inquiries to the Denver Approach controller yielded the same answer--he saw neither an aircraft transponder return in that area nor any "primary" return (an aircraft or object simply reflecting radar waves off of its skin).
This was most puzzling to us as we both clearly saw this bright, large object and observed it for over two minutes. It appeared roughly elongate rectangular and very large--perhaps the size of a large jumbo jet (at least 200-300 feet long)... but this is difficult to judge without distance information.
I believe it was at least 5 to 8 miles off to our right. Hard to discern surface detail--it simply looked roughly rectangular and extremely bright, bluish white light in color (emitting light).
I did not have binoculars or a camera with me on this particular flight, so I cannot give much more close detail than this. Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have. I am thinking of requesting the radar tapes from ATC.
Our flight number was SkyWest 1008, and we were communicating with Denver Center on 126.50Mhz and then Denver Approach Control on 119.30Mhz when the event occurred.

Well what do you think let us know; http://www.coloradoairporttransportation.com/

Clear Travel Is out of Business for Denver airport transportation travelers

Denver International Airport NEWS: Clear Travelers will not get a Refund.

The company Verified Identity Pass Inc., that operated the Clear registered traveler program at Denver International Airport security said today it cannot issue refunds to members "because of its financial condition."
The company claimed to have 260,000 travelers enrolled in its program, and the firm said it ceased operations because it was unable to negotiate an agreement with creditors.

The National Business Travel Association expressed "disappointment" with the Clear shutdown and urged TSA and U.S. airlines to revitalize the registered traveler program "to provide greater efficiency and security to business travelers."

Colorado Travelers still making vacation plans

Air Travel Heats Up, Travelers still making vacation plans.
Budgets may be tighter this year, but all signs point to Colorado travelers still making vacation plans for the summer.

Visitor traffic increased to the National Parks and Services, nps.gov (up 14%), and local theme park, http://www.elitchgardens.com/ (up 47%). As a result, major hotels like holidayinn.com (up 18% ), bestwestern.com (up 11%), and daysinn.com (up 14%) all saw a lift alongside Denver airport transportation, which were also positively impacted – coloradoairporttransportation.com (up 15% ).

Tip #1 Book reservations early. During the summer, popular destinations sell out early. In order to make the most of a vacation in both value and accommodations, make all reservations as soon as possible or risk having to compromise on final plans. •

Tip #2 Pack with security in mind. Place your ID tags on the inside of your bag and do not lock it. That will allow Denver airline security to search it if necessary, but it will not advertise the location of your empty home to an unsuspecting perpetrator. Consider labeling a laptop computer as well, as they are the number one forgotten item at Denver airport security screening checkpoints.

Tip #3 Dress for function, not flash. Avoid wearing a lot of jewelry or high-priced clothing that marks you as a wealthy target when traveling. Maintain a low profile while in a public airport and try to blend into your surroundings.

Tip #4 Make photocopies of all travel documents. Whether your travel destination is considered unpredictable or you are prone to losing things, it’s always a good idea to make photocopies of travel documents such as tickets, passports, itineraries, reservations and credit cards. Carry them separately from the originals in case you have to notify authorities of theft or loss. •

Tip#5 Get street smart. When leaving a hotel for sightseeing, shopping or dining, ask the hotel staff. Safety should always come first. For example, a knowledgeable concierge may advise taking a pre arranged Chauffeured service around the City of Denver and to the Denver International Airport located 23 miles from Downtown Denver.

Top Chauffeur Tip# 6 When flying, just to be on the safe side, remember to schedule your Denver airport transportation 2 hours prior to take off. Arrive at the Denver International Airport one hour prior to departure. It helps avoid long lines and missing a flight as well as keeps boarding and departures on schedule.

Traveling with a Cell Phone- FIVE Things you need to know!

FIVE Important Things you should know! About Denver airport transportation & Traveling with a Cell Phone to Colorado

Tip #1 Traveling Emergency-The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency when traveling, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

Tip #2 Hidden Battery Power- Imagine Denver airport transportation up the mountain for a hiking or skiing vacation in Colorado and your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

Tip #3 How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 #. A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use it or sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Tip #4 Free Directory Service for Cells- Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most airport transportation services do not carry a telephone directory in their vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now! before your trip to Colorado.

Tip #5 Have you locked your keys in the rental car? Does your rental car have remote key less entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the rental car, call someone at the reservation desk on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your rental car door and have the person press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys out to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your rental car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Top Chauffeur's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our Limousine we use for Denver airport transportation over a cell phone at the Denver International Airport and it WORKED!

Top Chauffeur Tip: We know you are traveling to Colorado may be unfamiliar, that is why we always express hiring Denver Airport Transportation to help eliminate the stress of traveling and to help make flying to the Denver International Airport an enjoyable start to your vacation.

How to Choose a Good Hotel in Colorado

Whether you’re going on a Colorado Ski Vacation, or looking for a Hotel closest to the Colorado Convention Center, or just a weekend getaway in Downtown Denver , choosing a hotel is one of the most important decisions in ensuring you have an enjoyable time. Despite the importance of finding the right hotel, it can often be quite difficult to strike a balance between quality, price, and convenience. So what should you look for in selecting a hotel, and where should you go to try and find that perfect accommodation, whatever your needs?

TIP #1: One of the best ways to determine which Denver hotel is right for you is by matching your requirements against the 5 star rating system.

TIP #2: Choose a good Denver hotel by word of mouth. What do your friends think about various Colorado hotels in the region? Has anyone you know had a particularly good (or bad) experience of hotels around about the one you are looking for?

TIP #3: A good place to check for hotel reviews and recommendations is the Internet, and there are numerous travel sites which host impartial reviews and write ups of various hotels and hostels. This can be a great, low cost way of ensuring you find a hotel that meets your requirements, and provides you with an enjoyable trip to help you relax and unwind.

TIP #4 from the Top Chauffeur: I have had the great opportunity to drive my clients to several hotels in the Colorado region for Denver airport transportation and here is my recommendation based on First Impressions, Convenience, & Client recommendations.

Downtown Denver hotel walking distance to the Convention Center-Denver airport transportation needed.

Denver Airport Transportation Service to the Airport? why not!

Denver Airport Transportation Service to the Airport?
Compliments of http://www.coloradoairporttransportation.com/
Why would you want to load your car, drive through unknown Denver airport traffic, pay by the day to park your nice car and walk a very long distance to the Denver airport terminal. While dragging your luggage that far? also include fuel prices for this trip to and from the airport?
Do you think you are saving money? The fact is that Denver airport transportation service in a Limousine to or from the airport is the smart and economical way to travel. If your trip is longer than 24 hours, you will end up paying more in self-parking fees, fuel, and your time, if you drive yourself.
Curb side front door service at the Denver airport terminal right in front of Level 5 the baggage claim area is the fastest ground departure to your destination.
Consider the price on Denver airport limousine service to the Denver International Airport. It might cost a little more, but you will be guaranteed a direct trip to the airport without having to stop and pick-up another traveler.

Denver Airport Transportation "Travelers Vehicle of Choice"

The Lincoln Towncar Signature L has become Travelers vehicle of choice for Denver Airport Transportation

Travelers Flying in and out of the Denver International Airport prefer to be transported in a chauffeured Lincoln Town car Signature L model. The Lincoln Towncar Denver airport limousine holds on to the look and feel of luxury with its extra leg room and high quality black leather interior. For safety it is easy to see why airport travelers prefer the Lincoln Town car; shoulder seat belts for rear and front passengers along with front and side air-bags., the passengers are facing forward (not side to side). In the Lincoln Towncar the passenger controls the interior temperature (including seat warmers), Radio, CD and DVD monitor volume. The stretch airport limousine was a great vehicle to impress people in the 80's & 90's, it was a sign of success for business Executives. But today’s Good to Great Executives would prefer not to draw alot of attention. Try one and find out for yourself why so many Denver airport travelers choose the chauffeured service in a Lincoln Signature L Towncar.

The Conference & Exposition affectionately known as IPI, is the place to learn, greet and seize new business opportunities while developing invaluable skills.
Tips for Exhibitors at the Colorado Convention Center located in Downtown Denver
Exhibitor tip#1 Dress successfully: Bring a couple of pair of comfortable shoes. You're going to be walking. Just walking from one end of the show to the other will put a few miles on your favorite shoes. Factor in about a thousand stops as you move from booth to booth and hall to hall and you're going to leave the show feeling like you have just completed a marathon each day. Maybe more if you arrive for the weekend sessions.

Exhibitor tip #2 Don't forget to interact with others at the exhibits: One of the prime missions everyone should take to the show outside of viewing the exhibits is to gain new friends and business acquaintances and to share your product. Let's face it the Colorado Convention Center is a huge opportunity for an open exchange of information with your peers. It's why you are there. Ask open ended questions and take notes. Collect business cards and have a large stack to give out. Leave something with that person you spent 20 minutes discussing the merits of a new product, or a piece of equipment, or a new idea.

Exhibitor tip #3 At least once during your stay, Eat in and around the cafeteria Colorado Convention Center. Around lunch time it's always packed. Tables are scarce. Try to sit next to someone you don't know, if they seem like they might be open to it. Introduce yourself and ask how the show is going for them. Engage them in conversation about what they have seen and what they have been impressed with at the show and then add it to your list of things to see.

Exhibitor tip #4 Safety: Remember you are leaving loved ones, who would like to see you again. Pre-plan everything on your business trip, your new surroundings, your Downtown Denver Hotel, and please do not forget your Denver airport transportation do not take chances jumping into any airport taxi or shuttle bus, get credential on safe transportation and like you tell your customer's don't take chances rely on a professional.

Comfort Tips on a Denver Airport Airplane

Tips for flying comfortably at the Denver International Airport Airplane
  • Choose to seat on the airplane bulkhead or exit row aisles. Bulkheads offer extra leg room and no one can recline his seat back into your knees. Exit rows have the luxury of extra foot room, but you must be able to open the emergency door.
  • How to Prevent Colorado Altitude Sickness: drink eight ounces of water every hour. Airplane air has only 1% to 10% humidity. You'll need more than the two small cart drinks offered on most flights. Bring your own bottled water, and avoid coffee, alcohol and carbonated drinks, which are dehydrating diuretics.

  • Eat light when flying into Denver International Airport. Everything but fruit plates contains too much salt and fat. Bring your own healthy snacks, like dehydrated soups or nutrition bars. Don't overeat, since your internal organs naturally swell due to cabin pressure changes.
  • Adjusting from the East coast to Colorado Mountain time zone. The Association of Denver International Airport Flight Attendants said the secret is to follow the same wake-up, bedtime, work and meal hours in your new location as in your old time zone. Don't try to catch up on sleep by going to bed right after you land or trying to stay up just because you gained a few hours. You'll adjust more quickly if your follow your bodies internal clock.

How to avoid lost luggage at Denver International Airport

Label your baggage outside: Before checking a bag (leaving a bag when you check in which then goes in the plane's cargo hold), label it inside and out. Labeling bags is only a little helpful to the folks looking for your lost luggage, but very helpful when you need to claim 'em. Use the outside tag holder if the bag came with one *and* use one of the tags you'll find at airline check in counters; tie that tag's elasticized string around your bag's handle.
Label your baggage inside: I duct tape a card with my name and address to the inside lid of my backpack and leave a copy of my itinerary and tickets inside in plain sight in the hopes that someone might actually read it if trying to unite me with my bag. To my travel itinerary, I paper clip a sheet with my cell phone number and my home phone and write "phone number" on it in relevant languages.
What should I do about lost luggage? if your bag doesn't show up on the baggage carousel (above), look immediately for the airline's nearby baggage office or window (this would be the lost luggage people) and report it there at once (the office is near -- it's probably not on another level). Don't panic- - your bag may just be delayed and coming in on another flight. Give the window clerk your baggage stubs (above).
What will happen when I report lost luggage?
The clerk at the baggage claim window will track your bag on the computer first, using your stubs. If the bag isn't on another flight, the clerk will begin calling around to track it down or send baggage guys who work for the airline to look for it.

Denver International Airport "Mustang"

We get several questions about the Blue Bronco with red eyes.
Mustang, a 32-foot tall cast fiberglass sculpture by New Mexico artist Luis Jiménez, made its long-awaited debut at Denver International Airport. Mustang was one of the original public art commissions for DIA from 1993. The 9,000-pound sculpture was his masterpiece—by far the largest sculpture of the artists’ career. Tragically, Jiménez died while working on the sculpture, having completed the painting of the head of the horse. The final sanding and painting of Mustang was completed posthumously by his studio staff and family, along with professional lowrider/race-car painters Richard LaVato and Camillo Nuñez. Once the work was complete, the sculpture was shipped in three pieces to Kreysler and Associates in California. There, Mustang was finally assembled, reinforced and wrapped for shipment to its final home atop a windswept knoll between the inbound and outbound lanes of Peña Boulevard at DIA. The bright blue rearing mustang with gleaming red eyes was installed permanently on a windy morning
