Denver International Airport Construction Delays
The next time passengers drive to the Denver International Airport you should expect delays for dropping off and picking up airport travelers. The DIA South Terminal Redevelopment Program is scheduled to start in the month of May 2012, Denver International Airport will demolish and reconfigure the bridges that connect Peña Boulevard to the south end of DIA Terminal. Bridge Levels 4, 5, and 6 reconstruction will result in some temporary detours to DIA’s passenger pick-up and drop-off.
Starting mid-May 2012, for passengers traveling by taxi and all share ride shuttles:
• Will no longer have curbside drop-off.
•All taxi's and share ride shuttles drop-offs and pick-ups will be in current designated median locations on Level 5 East and West.
Starting mid-May 2012, for passengers traveling by RTD bus or Mt. Elbert/Pikes Peak parking shuttle:
•Passenger drop-off and pick-up will share the Departures Level 6 East side. Delays will be expected
•Colorado Airport Transportation, LLC Curb side service: Limousine service and 1-10 passenger shuttle service will pick up and drop off at their same location on Level 5 Island #1 ( best option to avoid delays and closest to terminals)
Starting June 2012, if you’re picking-up passengers on Terminal West:
•Arrival (passenger pick-up) traffic will be detoured through the covered parking garage to pick-up passengers curbside on Level 4. Covered parking customers expect heavy traffic and delays
•Vehicles accessing passenger pick-up lanes should not be required to pull a parking ticket.
Starting June 2012, if you’re dropping-off passengers on Terminal West:
•Expect Delays for Departure (passenger drop-off) traffic will be detoured off Peña Boulevard to enter Level 6 from the north.
Travelers please plan some extra time for delays and please follow the orange detour signs to get where you need to go during construction.

It's a bad news for travelers and transportation companies. Passengers spent more time to travel to Denver Airport due to construction.
